Forging is a process where metal is shaped in desired sizes as localized and compressive forces are applied to the components at extreme temperatures. Forged Fittings are high-strength modules that are produced as carbon steel is heated to reach molten temperatures. These fittings play a key role in dictating the flow of media in the system. Stainless Steel Forged Fittings are designed to showcase outstanding corrosion resistance properties. The versatile fittings work well in elevated temperatures and can be easily welded in place.
One of the most common types of fittings in this forged grade is the Forged Steel Elbow. An elbow is a device that is utilized in changing the direction of the flow in the system. These elbows can connect two piping fixtures of the same or different diameters. They are generally designed in 45 or 90 degree turns. The Forged 45d Elbow is designed to change the fluid flow by 45 degrees in different applications. These elbows produce less friction with the lower pressure scale than a Forged 90d Elbow. The 90 degrees elbow changes the direction of the flow by 90 degrees. Also called the vertical elbow, these devices are well suited for structural and construction applications. The Forged Threaded Elbow is designed with female threads that align directly to the male threads on piping components. These elbows are not preferred in low-pressure or temperature systems.
A versatile Forged Socket Weld Elbow is permanently attached to the piping module as they fitted in the recessed area with the help of a fillet weld. The Forged Socket Weld 90 Elbow has a lower risk of leakage or damage compared to a threaded fitting. These fittings don’t require to be prepared for welding procedure and the welds don’t penetrate the bore of the pipe. All these products can be customized as per different requirements.
